Initial Consultation Requirements - New Clients Only (One-Time Requirement)
Already a client?If you're an existing client with new concerns or seeking intermittent support, you'll be scheduled for a Standard Consultation at $180 instead.
New to our practice?A one-off Initial Consultation appointment is required for:
• Wanting to start Individual Therapy (Adult or Child)
• Requesting any assessment or report services
This policy applies equally to all clients—whether private, self-managed, or plan-managed NDIS participants—to ensure equitable access and maintain our high standards of care.
Booking & Payment Process:This form is to record your interest in our services. Once submitted, you will receive an email from our clinician acknowledging your enquiry and providing available appointment times to discuss further. Once you confirm an appointment time that works for you, an invoice will be issued to secure your booking. Please note that appointment times are offered on a first-paid, first-secured basis—we cannot hold appointments exclusively. Your booking is only confirmed once payment is received. This transparent process ensures fair access for all clients seeking support.
Your 50-Minute Initial Consultation Includes:
• Comprehensive review of any documentation provided prior to the appointment
• In-depth consultation to understand your unique needs, goals, and circumstances
• Development of a personalised therapeutic approach
• Post-session clinical documentation and detailed service planning
Format:Initial Consultations are conducted via Telehealth unless in-person is specifically requested by you or recommended by the clinician.
Investment: $237.50 (Except Couple's Sessions: which is $340 for the 80 min Initial Consultation Session)
• Private clients: Payment secures your appointment
• NDIS participants (self-managed or plan-managed): Fully claimable under Capacity Building funds, provided these funds are available in your plan
Why This Policy Exists:This requirement ensures we can provide the highest quality therapeutic services by:
• Allowing adequate time to understand your needs comprehensively
• Respecting the time of other clients waiting for appointments
• Maintaining professional standards and duty of care
• Ensuring therapeutic suitability and the best possible outcomes
Cancellation Terms:In accordance with standard healthcare practice and Australian Consumer Law, the Initial Consultation fee is non-refundable for:
• No-shows (failure to attend without notice)
• Late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice)
• Change of mind after booking confirmation
Exceptional Circumstances:We understand that life emergencies happen. Refunds or rescheduling may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Please note: This Initial Consultation is a ONE-TIME requirement for new clients only. Once completed, you are considered an existing client and will not require additional Initial Consultations. Any future new needs/services would be addressed through Standard Consultations at the usual rate of $180.
